Blue Lotus · Lotus Azul

12.6.18

PT

Tudo aconteceu a partir daí.

Tudo conectado, tudo magia. Espalhar a magia. Pratica.

Blue lotus, earth woman.. stories women stamped in yoga pants.
We wear in our skin what goes in the soul and heart. Yoga is unity. The strength of this practice is so rich that it goes beyond the definition and becomes reality.
In love this story. I was in Mysore, in India, in 2013, alone. I was going to spend a month studying with my teacher and it was also the first time I was without my daughters for so long.
It was the registration day at Shala and I was going to meet my Guru Sharath Jois for the first time, whom I had heard about for many years. I had butterflies in my belly.
In the waiting room they send me in and another girl. We both sat side by side in front of Sharathji. He asks the normal questions to start a conversation, names, where we are from ... and she starts to say that she is Brazilian ... and we already know how we are ... "Ah, you're Brazilian, I'm Portuguese!" I will never forget that magical moment. In that moment we received the blessing of Sharathji. And forever we are united by yoga, body and soul, sisters of this and other lives.

Everything happened after that.
We find each other  through our creativity, our imagination, in that space where the soul and heart reside. The blue lotus print is that, it's us in a drawing. Created by Louise's mastery, by my side, in mine, which is ours, home. In Portugal for the world and for women like us. «I began to make this print at your side, in Portugal. Inspired by the Portuguese tiles and India that was where I met you. We were both working side by side with your energy in your house, and of course the lotus had to be present, it's yoga-me, it's India, we're sisters. "
The color mix is not random. "We made 15 options, I see you always with earthy tones, but I felt blue for the blue and white Portuguese tiles, and I also put pink and the beautiful massala color to remind India". The choice was intuitive "one of them had all the options together and it was the one you chose. It has this flavor of Portugal, India, and Mother Earth, of a wild woman, focused, rooted, connected, natural, beautiful by nature. "
Feel inspired and wear in the skin this spice of magic and yoga. We are warriors and we practice yoga. We eat conscious, we are aware, we take care of ourselves and the planet. We are global. We are fun and strong, we are the women of change that we want to see. This pattern is designed to think of women like you and me, as a wild woman, focused, rooted, connected, natural, beautiful by nature.
We are connected. "I remember a red incense that you used every day and I loved the sense, I still remembered this ritual, that stamp has that memory". Yoga unite.
The story of 3 women in this print. The third woman is Helena from  samadhi.pt.
It was her who gave us this possibility, to make real what already existed on a magical place. Like us, Helena also practices yoga, and even practiced and made retreats with me, one of them in Bali. She is also a warrior of the Light who wants to see beauty in yoga classes through the unique prints she produces. Thank you, Helena. This work was beautiful to make it happen.
Blue Lotus - its time to fly and follow the paths of the Universe. The blue female.
Like us, walk the feminine, the powerful energy of sisters, magical, global. Let us unite from a place of signs, of  energy. Love.
Place your order on Samadhi and send us your photos. These beautiful photos were taken also by another sister, Alyona. I met her through Lou. All connected, all magic. Spread the magic. Practice.

Namaste querida Sara

20.6.17

PT

I was not in Portugal on the day of the dry thunderstorm, nor did we know anything until Sunday  lunchtime. When I read that more than 60 people were dead I did not want to believe, it was already too much ..
When I read and realized the scale we start to hear the screams and feel the pain, we begin to feel the weight of the disaster that by being so close touches us differently. When we landed in Portugal, we could see the smoke in the sky, we could smell the burning, the heat was too hot and dry, the energy was strong, hot and heavy.
None of us slept well, Carlota came to me, the heat was too much, we had not had time to get used to 40ºC from one day to the next.

It was not until seven in the morning next day that, in search of more details about what had in fact gone so wrong, I saw a smile that I know well in the midst of the stories of the fires, I thought, no, it's not the same Sara, it can not be, she has a different name, but she looks like...  I investigated, I needed to know, and I quickly arrived to the conclusion that it was really Sara, a beautiful, sweet and young girl with a contagious smile, just married and she was going to visit me in Bali..
After all of the more than 60 people who died there was a face for me, a life that was close to me. It was then that I felt the pain as if Sara asked for help and I could no longer help her and between my impotence and the suffering of the Sara just tears of misunderstanding because Sara was beautiful and too young in her 33 to leave like this ...
I still waited for Marco, her beautiful brother and an amazing yoga teacher, to tell me no, that she was fine, but in his always affectionate tone of someone who knows that life is meant to accept, after all he says yes, that she liked me a lot and were in contact.. but after all the visit to Bali with Duarte did not happen ...
Dear Sara, today I was by your side, I remembered you as I remember you, smiling and affectionate, always attentive to others, dedicated to the family. I dedicated you my practice and honored you in my classes, it was the small contribution I could offer to your shinny soul.
Sara was a yogini in the heart who took the yoga where she would go and even introduced the practice to many people in that area of Portugal. Sara was the yoga in person, loved by all, cherished by all, there was no disunion in her heart.
To Sara a namaste. I'm proud to have been part of your life and I know we'll find ourselves in Bali next time. May your life be an example for all of us, that life is to smile and love, to be happy every day. May your death open the conscience of those who can change the course of things in the name of the well-being of all.
Sending love my dear. Now you are definitely what you were born to be, an angel in the sky.

girls moon days - what to do according to the lady of yoga

18.1.17

PT
hoje o post é dedicado a ti querida Inês.

EN
Today is for you my dear sister. you girl, woman, source of energy, strength, warmth - you that just completed this beautiful feminine age of 40, this beautiful time when all seems start making sense, just by being as you are and accepting the journey as it is filled with joy and clarity. fits you so well dear Ines.
I am so proud of you. for being such a brave angel joining every time my yoga classes, for literally challenging governments and stablished powers to be there, for fighting for your space in the «normal» society, creating space to have that one hour for you, that one hour when you can breath, because you know and recognize how important it is finally to be able to breathe for simple 60 minutes even if breathing in its fullness still seems a Herculean task of knowing the true deep effects. But you trust the process with a strength of a light warrior. I am so proud of you. You mother, woman, sister, daughter - you are an example and an inspiration for all of us.
And because today it is for you - here is what you asking me all the time: how is it to practice in our Moon days?
I will tell you what the mother of my Teacher, the Yoga lady, the daughter of Pattabhi Jois - Saraswati Jois, told me, and from whom I published an interview she blessed me with a few years ago.
Saraswati has the name of a goddess and she herself embodies with simplicity the legacy that life has presented her.
Being a woman, a mother and a grandmother she has a very feminine perspective. She believes in an equal practice for men and women, but warns that "we are physically different, so we must take this difference into account".

FV: Why is it that women should not practice ashtanga yoga during the first three days of their period?
RSJ: For some women it is very difficult to practice during these days, because of pain or that they bleed a lot. Most women work a lot and need to rest and to take it easy for three days every month - it is very important! It is not good for the body to practice hard during the days when you bleed the most and during the period women should not do Salamba Sarvangasana or Sirsasana. Here, in India according to the Brahman tradition the woman rest these days, she does not cook and does not even go into the kitchen. Other women cook for her and she eats and sleeps a lot!

FV: Is there a more subtle explanation for this Saraswati?
RSJ: That is to let the body rest the three first days of the period so that the menstruation cycle is not disturbed. For some women, who do not rest from the practice those days, the period may disappear or becomes irregular and it can be difficult for them to become pregnant. The organs in the body are purified through the asanas and that is very good, but not during these days. It is also important to eat properly. Many women say that they do not want to eat dairy products, but women who practice yoga need milk and ghee twice a day. Especially ghee is important because it cools the body. In the yoga practice the body becomes very hot and you sweat a lot. It is not good to eat too much ghee, though, and the ghee should be pure and of good quality. One teaspoon in the morning and in the evening is enough. If you eat pure ghee you do not have to be worried about getting too much cholesterol. My father likes ghee a lot and he used to have maybe a little bit too much of it in his food - I had to tell him not to, ha ha ha! After giving birth, the woman should also eat ghee and drink milk to recover.

the treat Summer Retreat Casa Shanti #2

27.9.16

PT

the most beautiful retreat, there are very few words to describe these four days at Casa Shanti. Ashtanga yoga, Mysore style, led classes, energy, emotions, sharing, surrender. fabulous food, a macrobiotic cooking workshop by the most beautiful hosts from Casa Shanti, yoga lectures and Ayurveda.
people from all over the world, friends which paths have crossed and end up together  as we manifest the same. because we all one day open ourselves to what comes. this is the way we chose, the way that will take us to be the best version of ourselves. and so we create our community, our family, our togetherness.
so much precious information we shared. we build a circle of love and inspiration. because only together we can unblock the blocks, only together we can deprogram ourselves to what we are educated to believe, so we grow and live a fully ecstatic life. this is the path of yoga, the path of light ~ as a teacher of Ashtanga Therese Poulsen always told me «this is a heart opening practice».
I was honored to have a sister coming to the retreat - Beta Lisbon. she is amazing and one of the best teachers of yoga I know (and I know many!!), a real honor to have her in my retreat to present and share her work.
we had a evening dedicated to dance, coming back to my roots to feel the liberating power of movement. brother Gonçalo Almeida Araújo - I know he will be BIG!
and because it was too much of some special days I hereby dedicate some words from my recently published book: Yoga-me.
«We are unique beings. Each of us is a book, a story, and is here for a different reason. finding this difference can blossom the meaning of life and birth of the place where dreams come true. explore, immerse in the depths of who we are, take time for yourself, understand our patterns, the ways you think and the vibrations you radiate. yoga is a messenger on this journey of discovery, the perfect tool to feel and enjoy the journey of every day».
we already counting for the year's #3 at Casa Shanti.

magic week

PT

leiam, partihem, usufruam, respirem!
ps: obrigada Xana pela bela foto ;)

if there are magical weeks in life, this is certainly one of them.
The book «Yoga-me» has been so nurtured and cared - as a newborn child who gets all the attention, visits and gifts.
I seriously need to give some thanks
Luis Filipe Borges
the last time I saw him before the launch day was in Ubud, in my house, where we spent one week in which he practiced with me every day and I shared my life in Ubud, ceremonies, cafes, dances. such a beautiful life.
we met in the Law school and we already know that 2 lawyers would be lost in the process ::))
to the publisher 20|20
for believing and challenging me to write - Joana who saw in my story the inspiration for others. I will not forget that night in Ubud, in my house, were she asks me if I wanted to write a book. I liked the idea immediately and did not know it would actually become reality. is very good to see things happen and to be made, it is a very special pleasure.

I do not know who is the sentence but we say it here:
plant a tree, have a child, write a book.
I will plant many more has its my dream one day, by now I take care of my garden every day.
I have two beautiful daughters and who know that both teach me every day.
and this book now. I look at him and still feel a mix of emotions, almost as if I couldn't yet believe. and I look at it and I love its energy, it makes me smile.
its a thank you to what yoga have given to me. to be positive, to be you, just as you are. because what matters is the path, not the result, all that we live has a greater purpose and when we understand this it is too much of a good finding not to be true.
magic days magic week magic times. beautiful constellation.
share and in-joy.

I want to always remember my mother for her creativity, laughter, knowing how to have fun, to have the best friends of all, for being the world's best grandmother, an example of elegance. thank you mother guru.

my dragon rider
grounding and calm energy
supportive from the heart
unconditional love
you are magical and angelic
a true queen of hearts

i remember the first time i saw you, your blond wavy beautiful hair... you look like a fairy and you feel like one. I connected with your energy and I am deeply deeply blessed and grateful I met you. you supported me in a big change of my life and I will always grateful for always being there.

you are as Goddess Saraswati which I feel you have so much the same energy
I honor you

this is the final ceremony of a beautiful journey, the highest portal to pass, where the subject is only eternity, taught by the Ultimate Muse, the Goddess of Wisdom Sarasvati/Drasilah.
dressed in robes of light, a sari spotlessly white, seated upon a lotus flower, her goddesses all rejoice, at the music of Her voice as the words begin to dance, deep in ecstatic trance, they chant their tones in secret whispers
up, up to the Immortal Divine,
where drunken on ecstatic wine, we will at last climb to the sublime,
to embrace our long eternal LOVE.

thank you Drasilah, you are for me a real human form of my Goddess Saraswati and a big inspiration as a mother, woman, goddess, queen and star. eternally gratefull.
