Tenho a privilégio de todos os dias praticar num shala (casa em sânscrito) lindo.
Todo feito em bambu de várias formas. troncos robustos encaixam nos entrelaçados finos que criam um ambiente onde nos sentimos em casa, protegidos.
Vale a pena refletir um pouco sobre o bambu.
É uma planta tropical gigante com particularidades bem verdes e de qualidades infindáveis. a somar, é lindo de morrer! É uma planta do futuro já que pode acabar com o corte predatório das florestas tropicais. é resistente, bonito, faz instrumentos musicais com a mesma qualidade com que constrói uma casa.
Foi considerado planta sagrada, os chineses utilizavam-no em cerimónias de casamento e nascimento. acreditavam que o espaço entre os nós era tão puro que os anjos viviam neles :) agora é, sem dúvida, matéria-prima do futuro e a palavra deve ser passada!
POr exemplo, há uma família em Bali, os Hardy, que têm feito um trabalho fantástico em prol do uso do bambu. Construiram uma das escolas mais espectaculares do mundo, a Green School (onde andam as minhas filhas) toda em bambu. É provavelmente a escola mais linda do mundo.
Definitivamente o bambu é solução para um futuro sustentável que queremos para o nosso planeta. e apesar de não crescer na Europa já tem sido usado na Alemanha, Espanha... sei que há uns anos o Boom festival em Portugal construiu todas as estruturas em Bambu vindo da Indonésia.
Mas eu falava no meu shala... é de facto um lugar com uma energia inspiradora. depois da minha prática diária a minha mente está serena e o meu corpo são.
à entrada o Ganesh, para nos lembrar que a vida é feita de remover obstáculos. ao fundo o Buda, o grande sereno e protetor. Á direita Patanjali. e à boa maneira ashtangi os meus professores Prem e Radha criaram um espaço limpo e simples. tradicional tal como o Ashtanga Yoga. se puderem leiam o texto escrito por mim hoje publicado no yogitimes.
e porque hoje o dia é de yogis... a minha cadela resolveu invadir o tapete de uma aula de yoga que eu dava. acho que fez juz ao nome: Yogi!

I am blessed that I practice everyday in a inspiring shala, a word for home in sanscrit.
All made in bamboo, it has an atmosphere where we feel protected at home.
Its worth to have a few words about the bamboo. Its a giant tropical plant with infinite qualities and very green properties. and amazingly beautiful! definitely bamboo is a future plant as it can end with the predatory cut of tropical forests. resistant, durable, refined, it makes music instruments with the same grace as a house.
was considered sacred plant in the old days and the Chinese used the plant in ceremonies as weddings and births. they believed the material was so pure that the angels would live in their little holes :) now its raw material for the future!
In Bali there is a family doing an amazing job with bamboo, the Hardy´s. They are spreading the word about the benefits of bamboo and their ex-libris is the Green School, where my girls have the bless to study.
definitely the bamboo is part of the solution for the sustained world we wish for our future. It doesn't grow in Europe but it has been used in Germany and Spain. In POrtugal some years ago the structures of Boom Festival were all built in Indonesian Bamboo.
Anyways I was talking about my shala... an amazing space with a special energy. after my morning practice my mind is still and my body is sane.

and because today was a yogi day.. my dog decided to invade the mat after a yoga class I was giving in my house. she made is clear she has the right name: Yogi doing a upwarddog!
