when yoga is your truth

«Satya pratishthayam kriya phala shrayatvam

segue a tua história, a tua verdade, o teu dharma. vais encontrar o equilíbrio.

to be the truth to yourself and the truth to others, that is satya, one of the parts of the first limb of the Ashtanga Yoga, as Pathabbi Jois describes in his Yoga Mala:

«Satya pratishthayam kriya phala shrayatvam
Upon being established in truth, there is surety in the result of actions
Patanjali Yoga Sutra ii: 36»

this means that one´s actions and one´s thoughts should be one. when we live truthfully we are in tune and when we are not real we create many thoughts in the mind which go against the raja yoga objective of calming the mind.

A student asked me how to deal with family and friends who do not understand why she is practicing or why she feels the call for yoga, with which she identifies and wants to deepen. this question, Ana, very pertinent is not only yours, we all that came across this path felt it at some point.
when I saw Ana in the class room I saw her determination and how yoga is already flowing in her body and her soul. I felt the receptivity and the commitment.
I know how doubts feel like, all the questions and the obstacles of the mind - its, in fact, all part of the process. they even say at this Kali Yoga times we are most challenged and all will make you go through greater difficulties in your spiritual path - just for us to prove we are clear on our way.
Ana, this choice will not be the easiest. but it is the most beautiful and the one that fulfils us most.
this is the beggining of your spiritual cleansing. You will doubt, you will suffer, you will question what you are doing to your life - there is no turning back.
what to do: not to give up, keep practicing and always follow what your heart tells you. try to understand those around you, who see you changing and do not know any longer what to expect from the Ana they thought they knew so well.
fear is what comes up when they look at you, fear from the unknown as they just see their own reflection when they look at you.
follow your story, your truth, your dharma. clearance will be attained.

    Beijinho enorme.
    Namaste 💜
